With Madden recently retiring, what better way to let the door hit him on the ass than showing the man he hates most, Frank Caliendo. The impression is not only hilarious, but nails right on the head why Madden, especially in his latter years, was as cenile as my invalid grandmother.

Lil Wayne on ESPN…WHY?!?!!?

Instead of ranting…I just have a few quick questions for ESPN about the decision to bring Lil Wayne on Around the Horn:

Were all the topics relating to cocaine? Are Nate Newton and Michael Irvin tuning in? Did the shows host ever “cap” anyone? How long til woody paige gets a tatooed tear? Are those dreds Rickey WIlliams approved? Pacman, is that you? How many guns is he packing during the segment, does it increase, decrease as the show goes on? How is the hell does Micheal Smith take himself seriously after discussing sports on-air with Lil Wayne? How does this show stay on the air with absolutely no credibility?…..just a few

Feature stories about concessions? Wow….

So the YES network is filling its time by doing stories about the concessions at new Yankee stadium. I guess 24 hour programming just isn’t for them. Maybe John Sterling cares if he can get lobster bisque with a side of ocotpus brain for $30,000 at the game, but I don’t….why? Because I’m not an old arrogant prick who knows as much about baseball as I do brain surgery. … sorry, little tangent there….

Great lead too, “heyyyy, did you know people eat peanuts and cracker jacks at baseball games?” yes. We knew. Shut up. Is there a reason the Yankees pay this girl?

Homer Kay talks ‘max effort’

After a loss to the Red Sox, Mike Kay and his booth displays what cry babies they are. Kay all but attributes the loss to bad luck, like no loss could possibly be the Yankees fault because they are God. He says they put in “max effort.” WHAT TEAM DOESN’T! These are major league baseball players for christ sake, if these guys didn’t put in “max effort” they wouldn’t be here.

Top 10 plays….I guess

Fly ball to left. Angles left fielder Bobby Abreu goes back, misreads the ball, spins around then finally jumps up to make the catch. From my 15 years of playing baseball, I knew that was a very poor play. He played the ball wrong. Turned over his left shoulder, then had to adjust all while stumbling backward. But, because he jumped to make the catch, it made ESPN’s top 10 plays.

How is that possible? Who makes this list? Just because a guy leaves his feet makes it an amazing play? Maybe the slob editor who put this thing together should put down the tuna fish sandwitch and learn something about baseball. I see this type of thing all the time. In the NBA, if you dunk the ball, it’s a great play. A great pass or defensive read goes unnoticed, but whooaaaa a dunk!!!! The guy is 7 foot 8 but I CANT BELIEVE HE DUNKED IT. (Insert Kevin Harlen “The Sledgehammer!!!!!” Yeah, off topic, but he said it again last night.

So lately it’s been difficult to come up with bad broadcasting. CBS is lights out with legends such as Nantz and Enberg. But, thanks to the Yankee Entertainment Network, I will have nothing but pure golden crap to report on.

I’ve been watching the Yankee game for five minutes and already, Michael Kay has made an ass of himself. The crew of Kay, Paul O’Neil and David Cone are bigger homers than most Yankee fans. Today, they are spending the entire innin on what? You’d guess baseball, right? Ohhhh noooo….on Cone’s party history during his minor league run.

Hey Mike, did you notice there is a baseball game going on? I could care less about Cone getting plastered every night after games….and by the way, that’s a hell of a thing to laugh about two days after an Angles pitcher died after being hit by a drunk driver.

Great job as always….keep the gems coming

It doesn’t take a strong observationalist or ADHD medicine to notice that ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer loves the word “football.” Today, when discussing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on NFL Live, he dropped the F-word 3,475 times. Let’s take a sneak peek:

“So Trent, who do you think the Buc’s will draft this season?” Asks host Trey Wingo. Dilfer resoponds, “They are goin’ to get a football player. He’s going to run or pass the football or maybe even takle the guy with the football. If there are any football players out there, the Buc’s, a football team, will find the best of the football players.”

Hm…NFL Live is the name of the show….do we really need to be reminded what sport we’re playing? Cut it out Trent.

Dick Enberg, you are GOD

OK, So I know I spend a lot of time complaining. Last night Walt Fraser said, “swishing and dishing,” what the hell does that mean? And how can I not drill on that. But, I must say, Dick Enberg of CBS, who has been doing about 46 NCAA tourney games per day, is awesome. He doesn’t scream. He doesn’t make up stupid sayings or never let his color guy speak. He sets him up, stays calm and stays away from cliche’s like they were infected with HIV.

Today, I solute the legend, Dick Enberg. ESPN should have him teach a class on how not to be a Chris Berman wannabe.

Show us who won, CBS!

The NCAA tourney…could it get any bigger. Every game seems to come down to the last shot. Such was the case with the Wisconson vs. Florida St. game. The Wisconson player comes down the floor, throws up a three-pointer to win it and….AND….CBS has switched the game back over to Cornell / Mizzu …or whoever…what the ….it doesn’t matter…we need to know who won!

WHY would you switch the game on the final shot and make everyone look at a tiny little box with the score in the corner to find out if it went in. Why don’t you just switch it to Heidi! Jerks.
